Our Mission
At Paws and Claws Humane Society of Garland County, our mission is simple and heartfelt: we work every day to protect, heal, and uplift the homeless dogs and cats in our community. Through compassionate care, responsible rescue, and life‑changing adoption opportunities, we strive to give every animal the chance to feel safe, loved, and home.

Who We Are

We are a small but dedicated network of volunteers, fosters, and animal advocates who believe that every pet deserves dignity, comfort, and a second chance. Our team is united by a shared love for animals and a deep commitment to serving the people of Garland County.
We don’t have a large facility or a big staff — what we have is heart, determination, and a community that cares. Together, we create a bridge between vulnerable animals and the families who will cherish them.
What We Do
Rescue & Intake
We take in abandoned, stray, neglected, and at‑risk dogs and cats from across Garland County..
Foster Care
Our foster families provide safe, loving temporary homes where pets can decompress, heal, and prepare for adoption.
Medical Support
We ensure every animal receives essential veterinary care — vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, and treatment for illness or injury.
Adoption Services
We match pets with families who will love them for a lifetime, offering guidance and support every step of the way.
Community Outreach
We educate, advocate, and partner with local residents to promote responsible pet ownership and reduce the homeless pet population.
Our Impact
Even as a small rescue, our impact reaches far beyond the number of animals we save. Each life touched represents a story rewritten – and a community strengthened.
Here’s a look at what our work makes possible each year:
- Dozens of dogs and cats rescued from unsafe or uncertain situations
- Countless hours of foster care provided by compassionate volunteers
- Life‑saving medical treatments funded through donations and community support
- Successful adoptions that bring joy to families and give pets a fresh start
- Ongoing spay/neuter efforts that help reduce future homelessness
Every number represents a life, and every life matters to us.
Closing Statement
Every pet who comes through our doors carries a story — and every story deserves a hopeful ending. At Paws and Claws Humane Society of Garland County, we are honored to be part of that journey.
Thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us create a community where every animal has a chance to feel safe, loved, and home.
